Heart surgeries for children

Our Mission

We are a group of surgeons, cardiologists and healthcare professionals trying to bridge the huge gaps existent in cardiac health care in India, especially with respect to financial needs. Equality of health care as a basic human right is what we are trying to emphasize.

How we work

The average costs for cardiac surgery in a private institution ranges from Rs.80,000 to Rs 4.5 Lakhs depending upon the complexity. The various state government health schemes irrespective of complexity only provide Rs80,000 to Rs1.25 Lakhs. So the children with more complex heart diseases are not catered to by many private hospitals.

We are currently working with NGOs such as EKAM Foundation and Sri Shankara Heart Foundation to conduct camps and identify children who require cardiac surgery. Since most of these children require financial assistance for surgery, we actively help the parents raise finances. We contact heart foundations, individual donors and corporates to make donations either as cash or in the form of consumables required for the surgery. We also actively persuade the treating hospitals to truncate their bills on a case to case basis.
